The hardened and tempered zone of the axe head has a hardness of HRC 55, resulting in a durable razor-sharp edge even after repeated sharpening’s. The hand sanded straight handle is made of solid American , a wood sought after by tool makers for its unique combination of strength, hardness, stiffness and shock resistant properties, and is protected and conditioned by multiple coatings of linseed oil.
